Lepra II reactions (ENL): -(Type III hypersensitivity)

1). Mild ENL - antipyretics alone

2). Skin lesions, fever malaise, other tissue involvement, glucocorticoids are often effective

3). If despite two course of glucocorticoids, therapy, ENL, appears to be recurring and persisting, treatment with thalidomide should be initiated.

Thalidomide is contraindicated in pregnancy (Le. develop phocomelia)
