The angle between the line of the patellar ligament and the line of pull of the quadriceps
a. The Q angle is normally about 8-10o in males whereas in females it is about 15-18o. Increases in this angle gives a lateral force vector to the patell of emoral joint.
b. This angle is measured clinically between the line joining the ASIS and the centre of the Patella and another line extending from the tibial tuberosity to the centre of the Patella.
