1. Articular cartilage is usually made up of hyaline cartilage and is devoid of neuro-vascular structures.
2. Atypical joints like TM joint does have articular cartilage with neuro-vascular structures at the peripheral portion. Articular cartilage in these joints is made up of fibrocartilage (atypical cartilage).
