Complications of MI:

a. Arrhythmias (MC) b. CHF c. Cardiogenic shock

h. Post myocardial infarction syndrome

i. In 3-4% of pt.

ii. Also called Dressler's syndrome occurs 1-6 wks after attack.

iii. Main cause of sudden death in 1st 24 hrs is cardiac arrhythmias.

Cardiac arrhythmias occur in 75-95% of complicated cases (subendocardial infarct)
