Early Gastric Cancer
b. The entity is common in Japan, where gastric cancer is the number one cause of cancer death, and where aggressive surveillance programs have been established.
c. Approximately 10% of patients with early gastric cancer will have lymph node metastases. There are several types and subtypes of early gastric cancer.
d. Approximately 70% of early gastric cancers are well differentiated, and 30% are poorly differentiated.
e. The overall cure rate with adequate gastric resection and lymphadenectomy is 95%.
