a. ( < 12 yrs- cannot give valid consent to suffer any harm which may result from an act done in good faith and for its benefit (89 IPC). > 18 yrs- can give valid consent to suffer any harm, which may result from an act not intended or known to cause death or grievous hurt (87 IPC).

b. Examining a person without his consent or performing a surgery without consent amounts to Assault (S. 351 IPC).

c. Consent given by an insane or under fear of injury or due to misunderstanding of a fact is not valid. Loco Parentis- in emergencies involving children, if the guardians are not available, the school teacher can give consent.

d. For Vaccination & Medico-legal autopsy, consent of guardian is not required, consent is provided by the law.
