1. Senile (involutional) entropion - common variety and only affects the lower lid in Qelderly people

2. Jones - Reesh and Q - Tuckling of inferior lid retractors, in this operation the inferior lid retractors are strengthened by tucking or plication procedure

3. Others procedure used

a. Modified wheeler's operative

b. Bick's procedure with Reeh's modifications

c. Weiss operation

4. Senile ectropion Q - commonest variety and involves only the lower lids, it occurs due to senile laxity of the tissues of the lids and loss of tone of the orbicularis muscle

5. Cicatricial entropion Q – common variety usually involving upper lid

6. Caused by trachoma, membranous conjunctivitis, chemical bum, pemphigus, Stevens. Johnson syndrome

7. Surgical procedures ­

a. Resection of skin and muscle

b. Resection of skin, muscle and tarsus

c. Modified Barrow’s operation

d. Jaesche-Arlt's operation

e. Modified Kelsey’s operation (Transposition of tarso conjunctival wedge)

8. Paralytic ectropion - caused by ipsilateral facial nerve palsy and is associated with retraction of the upper and lower lids and brow ptosis, the latter may cause narrowing of the palpebral aperture

a. Mainly occurs in the lower lids

b. Common causes Q - Bell's palsy, head injury, and infections of the middle ear.
