Toxic shock syndrome is produced by staphylococcal: (AIIMS May 2009)

a. Staphylococcal toxic shock syndrome is most commonly caused by Toxic shock syndrome toxin 1 (TSST1) also called as Enterotoxin F. It can also be produced by enterotoxins B and C of S.aureus and pyrogenic toxins A, B and C of S.pyogenes.
b. Exfoliatins or epidermolytic toxins are responsible for SSSS or Ritter’s disease.
