    2. S/S - purging, vomiting (salivation) prostation, collapse and death
    3. Fatal dose: 3-4 seeds (C = 3)
  3. ABRUS PRECATORIUS (RATTI, GUNCHI)
    1. Abrin - toxalbumen, similar to viper snake venom
       
      (all parts of the plant are poisonous)
    2. Seeds - egg shaped, bright scarlet color, black spot at one end
      1. Cattle poison as “SUIS”
      2. Fatal dose- 10 gm orally
    3. t/t inj. Anti-abrin
    4. s/s
      1. Abdominal pain, diarrhea, rectal bleeding weakness, cold perspiration, weak rapid pulse (to remember: symptoms just as in gastroenteritis)
      2. When injected, inflammation, edema, oozing of
      3. hemorrhagic fluid, necrosis at the site of puncture.
  4. Mushroom poisoning:
    1. Within 30 min Muscarinic effects so Atropine is the t/t.
    2. Ii. Within 6 – 12 hrs Hepatic & Renal injury by amatotoxins that inhibits RNA Polymerase so Atropine of no value.
