Endoderm of urogenital sinus
Vaginal endothelium develops from the urogenital sinus (endoderm).
- Contributions from the mullerian duct is controversial, but it is said that it forms the upper 1/3 of the vagina.
Urogenital sinus is present in the ventral part of the distal hind gut and is lined by endodermal epithelium.
- It contributes to the formation of Urinary bladder&urethra and lower 2/3 of vagina.
