Tumours: Metastatic involvement of liver is far more common than primary neoplasia. Secondaries come from breast; lung; colon

a. Benign:

i. M.C benign tumour of liver is cavernous hemangioma

ii. Focal nodular hyperplasia occurs in women and typically there is central stellate scar.

iii. Adenoma tends to occur in relation with use of oral contraceptive

iv. Adenoma has dilated vascular sinusoids but bile duct lesions are absent.

v. Subcapsular adenoma tends to rupture during pregnancy

b. Malignant:

i. M.C primary sarcoma of liver is angiosarcoma associated with exposure to vinyl chloride; arsenic or Thorotrast.

ii. M.C primary carcinoma of lung is hepatocellular carcinoma
