Wall most often fractured in a blowout fracture of orbit due to fist (Blowout) injury: (AIIMS Nov 2014)
The floor of the orbit is its weakest wall and in blunt trauma to the orbit such as fist injury it is often fractured without fractures of the other walls. This is known as blowout fracture. Involvement of the infraortital nerve causes decreased sensation in the ipsitateral cheek Clinical features are enophthalmos, burning around orbit, limitation of upward gaze with diplopia. Diplopia is due to trapping of IR or ortial fat in the fracture.it is the posteromedial part of the floor which is the weakest.
