Weil Felix reaction- This test is used in the diagnosis of rickettsial infections not for leptospirosis.
It is a heterophile antibody test that uses O ags of nonmotile strains of P.vulgaris and P.mirabilis, to detect agglutinins in epidemic typhus, endemic typhus, spotted fever rickettsiosis and scrub typhus.
