Which of the following maternal antibody causes heart block in newborn?(AIIMS Nov 2014)
Lupus in newborns results from maternal transfer of IgG auto-antibodies (usually anti-Ro).
Manifestations include congenital heart block, cutaneous lesions, liver disease, thrombocytopenia, neutropenia, and pulmonary and neurological disorders.
Most manifestations resolve spontaneously; however, congenital heart block is a permanent phenomenon and often requires cardiac pacing.
