Which virus reactivates and involves the eye:
a. Primary infection with Varicella zoster virus in a non-immune individual causes chicken pox.
b. After resolution, the virus becomes latent in sensory ganglion of trigeminal nerve or dorsal root ganglion and can reactivate several years later.
c. Risk factors for reactivation include-HIV, NHL, old age, transplant recipients. Zoster ophthalmicus is the reactivation of VZV in the ophthalmic division of trigeminal nerve.
