Coulomb’s Law

The quantitative expression for the effect of the charge and distance on electric force is given by an experimental law, known as Coulomb’s law.

Coulomb’s Law
This law states that the force between two point charges
  1. acts along the line joining the two charges,
  2. is directly proportional to the product of the two charges, and
  3. is inversely proportional to the square of the distance between the charges.
