Distance Formula

The distance between two points P(x1, y1) and Q(x2, y2) is given by
|PQ| = 70052.png

Notes:
  • Distance between (x1, 0) and (x2, 0) is |x1x2|.
  • Distance between (0, y1) and (0, y2) is |y1– y2|.
  • Circumcenter P(x, y) is a point which is equidistant from the vertices of triangle A(x1, y1), B(x2, y2), and C(x3, y3).
Hence, AP = BP = CP, which gives two equations in x and y, solving which we get circumcenter.
