# Tabular form or roster form

In this method of describing a set, the elements of the set which are listed separated by commas within brackets.
For example, the set of all odd positive integers less than 10 can be described as {1, 3, 5, 7, 9}.

# Property method or set-builder form

In this method of describing a set, a variable

*x*which stands for each element of the set is written under braces and then after giving a semicolon; or oblique line the property or properties*p*(*x*), possessed by each element of the set is written within the braces itself.Example

- The set
*A*= [1, 3, 5} can be written as*A*= {*x*/*x*âˆˆ*N, x*is an odd number*x*< 5}. - The set
*A*of all even natural numbers can be described as*A*= {2*n*;*n*âˆˆ*N*}.
