Construction of Squares and Triangles

This chapter deals with the brain teasing problems for construction of squares with the combination of two or three parts by selecting them from a group of given alternatives (mostly five in number). The following discussion will assist us in solving such type of problems.

Select a piece which contains a right angle between two adjacent outer edges. Try to fit another piece in its hollow spaces. If you are unable to find any such piece, select another piece having a right angle. Repeat the procedure with different sets of such pieces. Finally, with the two pieces fitting into each other, find the third piece which fits into the other two selected ones, to get the complete square.
