Indian Entrepreneurs Abroad
The Indian bankers entered due to demand for production of food and capital. The Shikaripuri Shroffs and Nattukottai Chettiars were some traders and bankers who financed export of agriculture in Central and Southeast Asia. The Indian traders and moneylenders also followed European colonisers into Africa. The Hyderabadi Sindhi traders ventured beyond European colonies and established flourishing emporia at ports worldwide.
