General Studies I
Among the following, which one not an ape?
Gorillas, the largest of the living primates, are ground-dwelling herbivores that inhabit the forests of Africa. Gorillas are divided into two species and (still under debate as of 2008) either four or five subspecies. The DNA of gorillas is 97%-98% identical to that of a human, and they are the next closest living relatives to humans after the two chimpanzee species.
Why are some apes and some monkeys?
Apes don’t have tails, the ape family consist of the gorilla, chimpanzee, Orang-utan, Gibbon and the Tasia. Gibbons are also related to apes, though are classed as lesser apes.
The ape family tend to have mainly vegetarian diet, besides the gorilla and chimpanzees who on occasion eat small animals.
Apes are larger in size than most monkey’s and have a more developed brain than a monkey.
