**Question:**

What is the measure of the angle between the minute hand and the hour hand of a clock at 1:50?

Okay sagar..it's easy method...thank u..

The quickest formula to use is:

6M-(30H+M/2)

In this case,

H=1 and M=50

Putting in above formula we get 245degree or if u want the smaller angle then 360-245=115degree

I agreed for second example... because it gives same ans by solving urs method n mine.. but... okay...anyway thank u..this is also one of the method to solve like this problems...

You are wrong.......

Just i m saying....

U go and clarify with others.

That solution i told u is the long method.

But here i m giving a short trick.

Multiply hour hand to 30

And minute hand to 11/2

And then subtract it from the greater one.

U will get the answer . If angle will be more than 180 then plz subtract it from 360 u will get the exact answer.

Such as example:- 1:50

30*1=30

50*11/2= 275

Subtract it from the greater one:-

275-30=245

It is greater than 180 so subtract it from 360

360-245= 115

Answer is 115 degree

One more example for your clarification:-

Angle between hour and minute hand at the time of 8:30.

Its alsi simple:-

30*8=240

11/2*30= 165

Subtract it= 240-165= 75

Answer is 75 degree (we will not subtract it from 360 bcoz it is less than 180).

Hey..it's not like that.. actually total degree in clock is 360degree.. so 360 degree=60 min =60 lines.. 1 min or 1 line =6degree.. 1 hour 50 minutes means it has total 19 lines or 19 minutes...then 19 lines*6degree=114 degree... and one more thing hour hand in clock moves one line per 10 minutes... so the correct ans is 114 degree... I hope u may understand this.. if not means pls clarify once again...

Correct answer is= 115 degree.

Angle between minute hand and hour hand is = 90

But in every minute hour hand moves 0.5 degree

So in 50 minutes hour hand moves= 50*0.5= 25 degree...

Then total= 90+25=115 dergree.

How 114?

114 is the correct answer...
