1. Cystoid macular edema Q (CME) is seen following cataract extraction diabetic retinopathy Q and retinal venous occlusions. Q
2. In addition, ocular inflammation, medications, and tumors may lead to the formation of cystoid macular edema.
3. Exudative or transudative fluid (from retinal vascular leakage in the parafoveal area) collects in the loosely- packed outer plexiform' layer of Henle.
4. Clinically, this produces a stellate or flower-petal pattern on fluorescein angiography
