Classification of Sexual Offence
All are true regarding Florence test EXCEPT: (LQ)

It is specific for seminal stains
a. It is the best test for seminal stainsQ.
b. The stain is extracted by 10% HClQ and a drop of this is placed on a glass slide → a drop of Florence solution (KI+I2+H2O) is allowed to run under the cover slip.
c. If semen is present, dark-brown rhombic crystalsQ of choline iodide or choline periodide, resembling hemin but are larger, arranged in clusters, rosettes, crosses; depends on choline secretion from seminal vesiclesQ.
d. Very sensitive test but not specificQ for seminal stains. More of -ve value i.e. if the test is negative → the stain is not seminal. If it is +ve the stain could be seminal in nature or some other substance.
e. The test is not proof of seminal fluid, but only of presence of some vegetable or animal substance e.g. +ve test is also obtained with stains of crushed insects, extracts of various organs.
