Bisphosphonates are not used in(LQ)

a. Bisphosphonates are complexes of phosphates and are used in a variety of conditions such as osteoporosis, hypercalcemia and multiple myeloma for control of hypercalecemia. These are the drugs of choice for steroid induced osteoporosis .
b. The drug is effective in hypercalcemia .Though decrease in calcium levels are important in hypervitaminosis of vitamin D but bisphonates have not shown efficacy in this condition at a large scale. Though, there are isolated case reports to suggest this.
