Diurnal periodicity is seen in-(DNB Dec 2011)
a. Daytime or diurnal periodicity is shown by the microfilariae of Loa loa or the eye worm.
b. It is transmitted to man by the mango fly or Chrysops spp which inoculates the 3rd stage larvae into the skin. Habitat of the adult worms is subcutaneous connective tissue and subconjunctival tissue of eye.
