Ketamine increases the muscle tone so surgeries requiring muscle relaxation can not be performed under ketamine. It increases not only intracranial pressure but also increases intraocular, intragastric pressure. Tracheobronchial and salivary secretions are increased so atropine premedication is necessary. It is a potent bronchodilator so IV agent of choice for asthmatics.
