Explanation:There are a number of methods of removal of viscera from the body, once the major cavities have opened up.
a. Technique of R. Virchow – the organs are removed one by one.
b. Technique of C. Rokitansky – in-situ dissection and removal of organs. It is specially suited for autopsy on infants.
c. Technique of A. Ghon – the thoracic, cervical structures, the abdomonal organs and the urogenital systems are all removed as organ blocks (en-block removal).
d. Technique of M. Letulle: the thoracic, cervical, abdominal and pelvic organs are removed as one block (en-masse removal) , & then dissected into organ blocks.
