a. The McMurray's test is a test for evaluating a meniscal injury. With the patient lying on the couch the surgeon standing on the side firmly grasps the foot in one hand and the knee with. the other.
b. The knee is completely flexed the foot is rotated externally and the leg abducted. The joint is now slowly extended keeping the leg externally rotated and abducted.
c. As the torn cartilage gets caught during the manoeuvre the patient will experience pain or a click may be heard, this is for medial meniscus, for the lateral miniscal tears the leg should be adducted and the foot internally rotated.
