The treatment of the lutein cyst in a H. mole is
Theca-lutein cyst - The incidence of obvious cysts in association with a mole is reported to be 25-60% these cysts are thought to result from overstimulation of lutein elements by large amounts of chorionic gonadotrophin elements secreted by proliferating trophoblasts
a. Cysts are not limited to case of H. mole and are associated with placental hypertrophy with fetal hydrops or multifetal pregnancy
b. Because of the cysts regress after delivery oophorectomy should not be performed unless the ovary is extensively infarcted.
c. Suction evacuation is best line of treatment for H. mole.
